As Head of Community Management (f/m/d), you play a key role in building, managing, and growing our global community of outdoor enthusiasts, while leading our Community Team based in Immenstadt.

Your new job at Outdooractive

  • You lead and develop our German Community Team, providing both operational and strategic guidance.
  • You coordinate closely with our international community teams, share best practices, manage global projects, and report on results.
  • You are responsible for community support (support desk, app stores, digital channels) – including scheduled weekend and public holiday shifts (with compensatory time off).
  • You design and deliver community campaigns and projects, including digital initiatives, live activities, and Pro/Pro+ subscription activations.
  • You work closely with our marketing and product teams, contribute to full-funnel campaigns, and further develop newsletters, FAQs, and standardized workflows.
  • You represent Outdooractive at events and trade shows in Germany, across the DACH region, and occasionally internationally.
  • You track and report on relevant KPIs (community growth, engagement, subscription revenue) and use these insights to drive continuous improvement.

How you can convince us of your qualities

  • A degree or vocational training in communications (or a related field).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal, combined with intercultural competence.
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to express ideas precisely in German and English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Proven experience in community management as well as in leading teams or projects.
  • Solid technological understanding and very good knowledge of current social media trends and developments.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and web-based applications.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to effectively set and manage priorities.
  • An entrepreneurial, growth-oriented mindset.
  • Enthusiasm and a genuine passion for outdoor sports and the outdoor community.
  • Experience in several of the following areas:
    • Organization and delivery of events
    • Community projects (digital & real-world, beyond just social media)
    • Community research, analysis & insights
    • Copywriting, co-marketing & content partnerships
